The Battery Research and Innovation Hub was developed with $10.3 million in co-funding by the Victorian Government and Deakin University and extends our research, manufacturing and testing capabilities.
Our specialised facility includes:
It is Australia’s first pilot-scale production line for custom-designed advanced batteries with a projected production capacity of 500 kWh/year.
Visit us at 154 Highbury Road, Burwood, Victoria, 3125, Australia (close to Deakin University’s Burwood campus).
The Battery Research and Innovation Hub offers the following services to our industry and research partners:
We have recently produced high-performance battery electrolyte and electrode materials, which has been one of the missing links for Australian battery production. Producing next-generation batteries in Australia from Australian-sourced, safer materials at half the current cost is now highly likely in the near future.
Current partners include Toyota, Li-S Energy and Calix Ltd among others.
We welcome new partnerships by providing access to our facility and team, either through joint research projects or service agreements.
